We are excited to welcome Dr. Maria T. Zayas to Bemidji Veterinary Hospital in late October 2025. With over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Zayas brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and dedication to her work with Integrative Medicine, utilizing both Eastern and Western therapies.
She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, Animal Chiropractic Medicine and Fear Free Handling. Her professional interests focus on integrative approaches to animal health and wellness. Dr. Zayas will be leading our Saturday Urgent Care services and is also enthusiastic about working with exotic pets, bringing compassionate, expert care to a wider variety of animal companions.
Her unique blend of using Integrative Medicine in veterinary care and therapies offers a well-rounded approach to keep her patients well.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Zayas enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities and having adventures with her beloved dog, PITA, and her two harness trained cats, nicknamed Porkchop and Applesauce. Whether hiking or relaxing in nature, she values the same kind of connection and care with her own animals that she provides for her patients.
