Why does my pet need an exam?

When clients bring in their pets for vaccines they often ask why it is necessary to do an exam. Each pet should have a physical exam at least once per year. Senior pets or patients with chronic health conditions may need more frequent exams. A lot can change in a year, especially since pets age much faster than humans. (more…)

Wildlife: “If you care, leave it there”

In the spring we receive a lot of calls from people who have found what they believe to be orphaned or injured young wildlife asking us what they can do for them. More often than not the answer is simply “nothing”. Although, by the time they call, they may have done more harm than good. Many species commonly leave their young unattended for long periods of time. The parents leave to gather food or nesting materials. Often the best option is to not disturb the animal and monitor it from afar. Also, your safety is far more important. (more…)
